Some people are absolutely convinced that there must absolutely be one or two things that will be forgotten when embarking on a trip...
But I’m here to tell you that as long as you’re neither in charge of the weather nor road traffic, you can definitely be fully prepared for your weekend getaway!😊
Here Are 5 Simple Ways To Be Fully Prepared:
1. Are You Among Those Who Think Packing Four "Backup Outfits" Keeps You Prepared? Think Again!
The most pressing issue for most people’s weekend getaway are outfits!
After packing all your “just in case something happens” clothes or “backup” outfits, you find that you have too much luggage for just 3days.
Dear sis, all those inner thoughts:
Maybe we’ll see a movie 😏
Maybe we’ll go to another restaurant 🤨
Maybe we’ll go clubbing after partying🙄
80 times out of 100, you DO NOT go to all these additional places inside ya mind jare.
Get only outfits that will match where you’ve made plans!
For those who need help packing clothes that can go as both backup and main clothes..

2. Your Big Soaps, Creams & Wigs Are Space Eaters!
You know that familiar situation where you’ve tried your absolute best to pack little but the size of your toiletries/cream set won’t let you be great😪.
On top of that, you're a baby girl who can't be wearing the same wig for the whole weekend; one wig per one/two clothes abi?
Wehdone ma🙌🏻. They’re all important, they’re all big sizes so you can’t use that your cute, mini size, baby blue suitcase again.
But you’re going for 3-4 days getaway, how can you carry 4 wigs and your 200ml bathing soap and 1litre body lotion, o wrong nau😈.
For our ever loyal subscribers, I’ll show you these mini bottles that you can put your beauty products.
They are very compact so it seriously creates space in your suitcase.
Especially these perfume automisers 🤩, no need to be scared that your perfume will break in your suitcase or be too heavy for your hand bag.
It’s an everyday essential.
For the wigs…hmmm, let me just drop links for you to see how you can look like you’ve worn 2 to 4 different wigs when it’s only one.
Will drop a freebie for all this at the end of these 5 steps.
3. Resist “Kyle XY” Memory:
Always crosscheck your itinerary!
When you’re packing, it’s advisable to keep your itinerary by your side as you arrange your things.
DO NOT fall for the “I have it in my mind” deceit; you don’t have Kyle XY’s photographic memory.
Those are your village people disturbing you pliks. Hold your itinerary so you can:
i. match your clothes with your locations
ii. resist “backup clothes”
iii. check the real human time versus the perfect imaginary time.
4. Additional Gbedu:
If you can’t get it out of your mind that there just may be somewhere else you’ll go to have fun outside your itinerary, simply use GOOGLE!
You can easily check surrounding areas around your itinerary locations for places that you may be interested in.
Pick one or two locations and pack one outfit that can match both locations.
This should be your backup outfit. Whether you go or not, it won’t affect anything.
For the pros, you can either take a top and pair it with pants you've packed or vice versa.
This will also save you space!
Remember traffic. For those of us in Nigeria, Lagos traffic can turn your three locations into just one and you’ll even be late for that one too.🤧
5. Money Eaters:
There are some very important yet simple items that are quite easy for us to forget and painfully cost us money to get if we do.
Like when I splurged on 5 packs of makeup wipes but didn’t carry even one when I went on an overnight outing.
I had to get an extra one at double the price at their overpriced supermarket 😤. See some money eaters-below:
👉🏻Beach, Water Activities: Sunscreen, Slippers, Towel
👉🏻Bonfire/Outdoor: Headphones, Water bottle, Portable Raincoat
👉🏻Overnight: Makeup wipes/cleanser, mini makeup set
Some people say that you can never be fully prepared for getaways because there’s always that ONE thing that won’t go as you’ve planned🙄
There are different things that you only remember when you’ve reached your destination🥺 and cannot go back home (The way this thing can pain ehn).
It may not be as serious as forgetting your son at home (Home Alone: Kevin), but whether it’s small or big, there’s this regret/annoyance that it causes.
After spending thousands of naira just because I forgot one thing or another, you bet I created a checklist that will help me remember ANY and EVERY dang thing!
Whether you’re just going out for a day, overnight, weekend or a week – this full checklist would make sure you WON’T FORGET anything at home again!
